  La Posada Real de Esquiladores is located in the heart of Gredos facing south. The ravine of the Cinco Villas is a warm and fertile valley that hosts five mountain villages among them is San Esteban del Valle. The Roman road that leads up to "Puerto El Pico" takes us to the mountain goat, golden eagle, the vulture, ...

The best way to know our environment is underfoot.
It is the right place for hiking, trekking or mountain.
 
 
SAN ESTEBAN DEL VALLE
 It is now a small village of 900 inhabitants. Save even enough remains of its traditional architecture and there is, at present, a strong tendency to regain that identity at home and "cotan" (small squares). The landscape that surrounds it is spectacular for its variety and freshness chestnuts, figs, grapes, olive, pine, oak, cherry and all with the permanent fund of the highest peaks of Gredos.
 
FIVE RAVINE VILLAS
  El Barranco de Las Cinco Villas is a valley collected. Save five towns steeped in history: San Esteban del Valle, Cuevas del Valle, Santa Cruz del Valle, Villarejo del Valle and La Villa de Mombeltrán. The existence of rich meadows in the upper part of Gredos, which remain green throughout the year, Glen became the natural pass between the northern plateau and the southern plateau, and its traffic and importance, a Roman road was built this next to meet two thousand years. SAW GREDOS
  Gredos Regional Park, is legally protected to preserve the wealth of fauna and flora it contains.

The species that best defines the Sierra de Gredos is the ibex(Capra pyrenaica victoriae) for which the population can exceed current 6,500. He almost disappear at the beginning of last century and the intervention of Alfonso XIII when only a dozen specimens was reversed.
Other important species are the wild cat, otter, civet cat, the Iberian lynx, the imperial eagle, black storks and common black vulture, the vulture, the kite, short-toed eagles, and dark green lizard mountain lizard.
